Over 1 million copies of OSX Lion sold in first day
I said last month that Apple had the ultra low £20.99 price point of their new OSX ‘Lion’ right on the mark. It appears that my views have now been shared by many Macintosh users, as Apple are claiming that over 1 million people have already downloaded OSX Lion, in the first day. Over 20 million generated in revenue within 24 hours is not to be sniffed at.
The sales figures have yet again, broken all records for Apple, making Lion the fastest selling OS in their history.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of WorldWide Product Marketing said in the press release “Lion is off to a great start, user reviews and industry reaction have been fantastic, Lion is a huge step forward, it’s not only packed with innovative features but it’s incredibly easy for users to update their Macs to the best OS we’ve ever made.”
Apple Launchpad: borrowing ideas from IOS to 'merge' the UI
Lion is not a minor upgrade, it features over 250 new additions to the code, including LaunchPad, multi gesture support and system wide support for full screen applications. Mission Control is also a cool new feature to view everything that is running on your computer.
The operating system is available in 123 countries via the Mac App Store and if you want to learn more about it, then head over to this page. (US users just replace the ‘UK’ in the URL with ‘US’).
